Jan 3rd – Smoke

On a pond near my office, there live a large flock of Canadian geese.  Every year as the pond freezes, the geese congregate to the unfrozen area of water and as the area gets smaller and smaller, the geese get closer and closer together, eventually piling on top of each other.  I always thought it quite funny how they all try to occupy the ever decreasing spot of open water.
