We had to log a DNF (did not find) for our second cache of the day, Ingrid found the first stage of this multi-cache with little problem. With Multi-caches – The first cache gives coordinates (or partial coordinates) to the next location, or multiple caches have hints to the final cache. In this case, the cache name is appropriately named as the second stage is only a half mile away if you could walk to it, but you can’t. There used to be a bridge across the bay that would allow you to walk to the second stage but it has been removed and replaced by another further up the bay. Each stage of the cache is on opposite sides of where the bridge used to be so, we had to backtrack and drive several miles to get to the other side. Here, I’m in the back of the Ram at the first spot. Once we made it to the other side, we were unable to locate the second stage. The GPS took us to the second coordinates but the cache was missing. We logged it to the Geocaching site so the owner of the cache can replace it. It was probably found but what is referred to as “muggles”, someone who is not playing the game but happens to stumble upon the cache by accident and removes it.
